The start of a new year is the perfect time to get organized. I always love to start the year off by purging all the clutter and getting organized for a fresh start. This Glittery Color Blocked Desk Organizer is the perfect accessory for my craft room to help contain craft supplies.

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, my craft room was starting to get a little out of control. It was in desperate need of some organization. This bamboo desktop organizer was the perfect solution. But, it needed a makeover to match my personality and style so I grabbed my favorite DecoArt paint and set to work.

Start by giving the desk organizer a primer coat with the white Americana Acrylic paint.

Once the primer coat of paint dries, you can paint the base layer with your favorite color. I used Peacock Teal, my favorite shade of aqua, to paint the top and sides of the desk organizer.

Set that aside and paint the drawers with coordinating colors. Don't forget to paint the inside too, you want to see a fun pop of color when you open up the drawers to get your supplies.

Once the paint is dry on the organizer and the drawers, it's time to add the details. Use washi tape to tape off a geometric design on the front of the drawers. Use a small tipped paintbrush to paint inside the taped off lines. Don't forget to add a touch of sparkle with the Galaxy Glitter paint.

Carefully remove the washi tape to reveal the painted design.

Organize your craft space or office by filling the drawers with your most-used craft supplies. This little organizer is the perfect way to keep everything neat and tidy, and it's so bright and cheerful you can't help but feel good.
