Boo Party Tray

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays with my daughter.  She is still at the age where she loves to dress up in costume and go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. The past couple of years, we have made it a family neighborhood affair. We meet at a friend’s house that is located in an ideal trick-or-treating neighborhood. We end up with about 5 families, and we all bring a potluck dish. Everyone enjoys a yummy dinner before we ascend as a group around the neighborhood. It is a great way to enjoy this fun holiday!

It’s always fun to decorate for Halloween, and this BOO stenciled party way is a fun way to accent any Halloween-inspired gathering or party. It was super simple to make, especially using the big 5” alphabet stencil font from Americana. Combine that with Pumpkin Patch orange Multi-surface Satin Paint, an inexpensive tray, and some cute washi tape, and you have a fabulous Halloween party tray.

Items Needed:

  • Paint Pouncer Brush
  • Painters Or Masking Tape
  • Decorative Washi Tape
  • Plastic Tray (I Found Mine At IKEA For $2)

Instructions:

I started by taping down the first letter on my clear plastic tray, keeping in mind the spacing needed for three letters, B-O-O.

I carefully applied the orange Multi-surface Satin paint with a paint pouncer, and let it dry before removing the stencil.

Then, I used the same technique to stencil the rest of the word, lining up the letters as I went.

I was able to use the other letters in the stencil as a guide for lining them up evenly and in a straight line next to each other.

After my stenciled “BOO” was dry, I applied stripes of decorative coordinating washi tape along the top and bottom of the tray for additional detail.

My stenciled BOO tray is ready to party! It’s a perfect functional and festive accent to any Halloween gathering!
