Faux Bronze Dinosaurs

Today I'm sharing an easy way to give a plastic Dinosaur a faux bronze look! I used some dinosaurs I got from the Dollar Tree a couple years ago. My son has always loved having a dinosaur themed room, but now that he's 7, I think it's time to make it a little more sophisticated feeling and not so little kid feeling.
I'll show you how to use the DecoArt Matte Metallics paints to create a bronzed effect. Let's get started!
Items needed:
- Paint Brush
- Plastic Dinosaurs
Instructions:
Gather your supplies and I'll show you how easy it is to create this look!

Pick out a couple dinosaurs for your project.

I used the Charcoal DecoArt Matte Metallics paint first.

I painted directly onto the plastic dinosaurs. This paint covers GREAT, I only needed to use one coat for this step. It takes about 15 minutes to dry.

Next it's time to give it that bronze effect. I pulled out several colors for this step, but decided to only use the Aged Bronze and Soft Silver.

Quick tip: Dip your paint brush in your paint, then dab it a little on a paper towel. You're giving it a dry brush effect when you go over the dinosaur. It works PERFECT!

Apply the Aged Bronze first. I added it around the legs, face, hands, etc. Not covering the entire dinosaur. Then once it dried I went over it again with the Soft Silver, the same way.

These would be great just as decor or even use them as bookends! Whatever you want to do!

This is a great effect you can do on so many projects!
