This Kid’s Table just got a lot more colorful and a tad bit more sophisticated with the addition of DecoArt Extreme Sheen Metallic paints.
For these easy placecards, I transformed simple wooden frames into chalkboards that the kids will love.
Items needed:
- DecoArt Extreme Sheen 2oz - Bronze
- DecoArt Extreme Sheen 2oz - Copper
- DecoArt Extreme Sheen 2oz - Rose Gold
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Mulberry
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Mustard Seed
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Canyon Orange
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Calypso Blue
- Watercolor Paper
- Leaf Dies
- Die Cutting Machine
- Paint Brushes
- Mini Wood Frames
- Chalk
- Glue
Instructions:
My favorite way to use Extreme Sheen is to create metallic ombre, which is the perfect backdrop for making perfect paper leaves.

Start my brushing three shades of Extreme Sheen paint onto mixed media paper. Use the same brush for each shade – this will help blend each layer together.

Allow the ombre paint to dry completely. Use a leaf shaped die and a manual die cutting machine to create paper leaves.

Once you’ve got the leaves cut, it’s time to whip up some quick chalkboard frames. For these, I used Chalky Finish and Americana acrylic craft paints.

These easy chalkboards will serve as great placecards, but will also keep the kiddos busy. Just leave a few pieces of chalk on the table and let them doodle during the big dinner!
