We seriously have the best dad ever. I couldn't have asked for someone that cares more about his family and I want everyone to know it!

So for this Father's day, I decided we needed a hand-lettered sign that declared we have the best dad. I love hand-lettering and it's not that hard if you practice a little bit everyday!

Items Needed:

• Americana Decor Satin Enamels 8oz - Pure White
• Americana Decor Satin Enamels 8oz - Charcoal Grey
• Americana Decor Metallics 8oz - 24K Gold
• Assorted Brushes
• Wooden Sign (round Or Square) I Actually Had An Old Round Sign That Worked Perfectly!

Instructions:

Of course it's no surprise that I chose to use white, black and gold!

I was thrilled with the new Satin Enamels and even more excited about the Americana Metallics gorgeous gold metallic color. It came out almost like actual gold leaf.

I sanded down the sign to make sure the design wouldn't show through.

I was about to start painting it when I noticed the back side had a circular groove cut into it. I decided to turn it over and use that side. I wanted to outline my lettering in gold, and that groove was the perfect answer to my idea. I had a built in frame just ready to be painted gold.

I gave the wood 3 good coats of the Pure White letting it dry completely in between coats.

Then, I hand wrote the lettering in pencil before I grabbed my brush. To paint the lettering, I used the Charcoal Grey with a round tip brush.

I went back over it again to make sure the lettering was as dark and clear as possible.

Then, I painted the circle and the hanger with the 24K Gold. It gave it the bling I was looking for!
