DIY Mother's Day Bangles
Posted by DecoArt on Apr 19th 2016
Items Needed:
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Bright Salmon
- Wooden Bangles
- Assorted Brushes
- Painters Tape
Instructions:
I recently got these wood bracelets (you can find them at DIYBangles.com) and came up with a plan. I LOVE chippy paint finishes and DecoArt chalky finish paint so figured if I loved it in my home, I should try that same look in my accessories.
First I painted 2 coats of Chalky Finish paint in Everlasting.
After it was dried I taped it off with painter’s tape to create varying stripes. Of course you would do any kind of design that you wish.
One bracelet got painted with the Chalky Finish Treasure (teal) paint and the other got painted with the Americana Acrylic paint in Bright Salmon.
Then I lightly sanded each bracelet to give it that distressed/chippy finish and applied a coat of Chalky Finish clear wax to seal and finish it.
As you can see, this Mother’s Day will be extra special for me as we are expecting our first little one later that month.
