Geometric Spring Planters
Posted by DecoArt on Feb 24th 2016
Who is ready for spring? We are already experiencing 90-degree temps here in sunny Arizona and that means it's time to start decorating for spring. First up for me, sprucing up my outdoor planters on my front porch. These Geometric Spring Planters are the perfect way to brighten things up.
Items Needed:
- Terra Cotta Pots
- Assorted Brushes
- Pencil
Instructions:
Gather your supplies.
Paint all your terracotta pots a solid color first using a foam brush. You will need to paint about two to three coats.
I wanted one of my planters to have a geometric triangle pattern, so I painted the planter white for it's base coat. You will need to paint about 3 coats to cover with the white.
To make my geometric triangle pattern I used a pencil to freehand my design lightly onto the pot. If you're a perfectionist you can use a ruler.
One of my favorite colors to use for spring is DecoArt's Americana Sea Aqua. It's so bright and fresh.
For the other planters, I kept the designs simple with a hand-painted swiss cross design and added some DecoArt Glorious Gold to the pink one.
These planters are so fun on my front porch, especially when they are filled with my favorite succulents. Isn't that cactus so cute with the blue planter?! This color combo is perfect for spring!
