Hello DecoArt readers. Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching! Are you planning a Valentine’s Day party or looking for an easy treat idea? These heart shaped treat boxes make a great party favor for kids and adults. I believe in creating holiday treats without the hassle and these small boxes are so easy to make that you can easily make enough for a whole classroom.
Items needed:
- Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz - Pink Cadillac
- Paper Mache Heart Boxes
- Foam Brush
- Embelllishments
Instructions:
Apply 1-2 coats of paint, allowing the first coat to dry for at least 30 minutes before applying the second coat.

I only painted the outside of the container and left the inside as is. This is a personal preference but if you plan to use unwrapped candy I recommend not painting the inside.

Add stickers to your paper mache treat boxes. I’m using sequin heart stickers and Happy Valentine’s Day tags from my local craft store.

The rosettes with tags on top are also stickers. What’s great is that stores normally carry a variety of cute tags and stickers right around this time so check the seasonal aisles for small stickers. However, you can add a lot more than just stickers. You can decorate these small boxes with lace, ribbon, doilies, rhinestones, and so much more

Fill them with candy, small trinkets or love notes.
How do you prepare for Valentine’s Day? Do you make any home décor projects or treats to give away?
