Hi DecoArt readers!

Today I'm here to admit my hoarding tendencies!  My cute nephew pulled down my Scentsy pot and broke the lid.  I thought how cute the base would look as a flower pot so I saved it in my aqua hutch.  For two years.

I recently became a fan of succulents and paired some with chalky mason jars.  I then gifted them to my kids' school teachers but had 2 left...then I remembered that pot I've been holding on to!  I don't have any brown tones in my house but I do have a pretty stash of chalky paint so I grabbed a favorite color and transformed it into a chalky flower pot.  And I love it!

Items needed:

  • Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint 8oz - Refreshing
  • Americana Decor Creme Wax 8oz - Clear
  • Foam brushes
  • Sand paper

Instructions:

So easy to make your own, you simply need an old pot (or new flower pot), a foam brush, a sanding block, chalky paint and chalky seal.

I first removed the lamp kit from the old Scentsy pot.

Then I brushed on two coats of chalk paint in Refreshing.

After it was dry (confession: I use a blow dryer to speed up the process, shhh!) I sanded where I wanted the old color to come through then gave it one coat of seal.  Easy!
