Dreaming of Spring? Me too! Thankfully, DecoArt and Americana Paints has a fabulous color palette to get your ready for all of your Spring home décor projects.
These gorgeous tones are light and airy, and I thought that they would make for the perfect beachy assemblage project for our guest bathroom to organize your counter.
Items needed:
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Whispering Turquoise
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Sea Glass
- Americana Decou-Page (Glue-Sealer-Finish) 2oz - Americana Decou-Page Matte
- Paint brushes
- Cup of water
- Sea shells
Instructions:
First, wipe your wooden canvas to get rid of any dust and debris that may have attached to the surface while it was on the shelf at the store. Next, making sure that your paint brush is nice and wet, apply some of your Americana Paint directly to the paint brush. We are using the paint in a stain type application here, so you want to make sure you blend with lots of water.
Paint your first color, I chose Sea Glass for the bulk of my surface, rather abstractly across the wooden surface. Working quickly, follow up with your second color, Whispering Turquoise, and blend the edges with a wet paint brush.

Allow to dry completely, then arrange your seashells on your wooden canvas until you are happy with their placement. Using your Decou-Page, apply lightly to the edges of your seashells, then press them down on the wood.

Let sit overnight to ensure your shells attach to the surface. Decou-page makes an excellent adhesive and clear up is a breeze. If you don’t like where one of your shells is placed, quickly remove it, wipe the Decou-page from the surface, and put the shell in its new location!

The great thing about this project is that you can hang it up on the wall, or use it on your counter to display and organize items such as drinking glasses, tooth brushes and toothpaste! It’s sweet and simple, and since the products are all easy to use, is perfect for children to help out with.
