Americana Decor Maxx Gloss Finish provides a revolutionary, superior, high-gloss sheen that delivers an almost glass-like finish. It enables consumers to create contemporary, sleek, and polished furniture and home décor accessories. Up until now, this level of gloss finish has only been available in aerosol spray paints. Maxx Gloss now offers consumers the ability to add a high-gloss finish with a water-based, brush-on formula. Available mid-March.

FEATURES

  • Highest gloss sheen available in a brush-on paint
  • No priming or sanding needed for excellent adhesion on most smooth, coated surfaces
  • Advanced adhesion technology to assure adhesion to almost all prior finishes
  • Remarkable coverage achieved in two coats
  • Extended open time allows optimum flow and leveling for an ultra smooth finish
  • Durable hard finish which, once fully cured, is highly resistant to household cleaning chemicals
  • Fade resistant
  • Water-based

Can't wait to try the new Maxx Gloss paints. I teach a class twice a week, and I'm sure my students will also want to try it out. I will have to work on some projects for us. Lol. Nice assortment of colours.

I bought these yesterday. I got Jungle Leaf and Caribbean Sea. Holy Smokes are they glossy!(drying time is a little long - BUT for a GLASS finish - so worth it) I repainted some Plastic Frames - that now look like high end home decor. I'm painting the banister in my stairwell next. My only complaint is that the store didn't care ALL your colours. I NEED THAT PURPLE! Thanks for making an awesome product. Practically odorless, water based, easy to work with. Awesome. More Colours please! :)

Does this product require waxing after painting? (Or some type of seal?) Also, can you paint it over chalk paint?

Amber

Hello! Can this paint be used on kitchen cabinets? I've used it on an end table and love the product, but am a bit nervous to use it on my cabinets without checking first. Thanks!

Amber -- No waxing, and yes. You should be able to paint over Chalky Finish. Amanda -- Sure! We only recommend that for the best finish the cabinets are flat. Not sure if you're planning on bringing them off the wall to refinish, but it will allow for the smoothest finish.

Will multiple coats eliminate visible wood grain and/or brush strokes? I used primer and sanded itvsmooth before applying just can't get an ultra sleek finish to the table top. Have only applied one coat so far. How long should it dry between coats?

Nancy

Nancy-- Yes after a couple of coats there should be no visible woodgrain, the number of coats is dependent on the amount of grain in the wood you are painting on. Be careful not to overwork the paint when brushing it on or it won't be able to self-level and you will see brush strokes. Your surface should be dry to the touch before you apply a second coat, that amount of time is really dependent on your location.

Hi Susan - Maxx Gloss has been discontinued, but we would recommend Americana Decor Satin Enamels for that project: https://shop.decoart.com/americana-decor-satin-enamels

Hello Brenda! Thank you for your interest in our Maxx Gloss. We will pass along your interest to our product development team. To get a similar glossy finish, we recommend our gloss enamels, or use a DIY or craft paint and finish with our Gloss or High Gloss varnish.
