A friend of DecoArt, Terry Klaaren, has been doing amazing mural work in Tampa, Flordia. Terry painted the mural above as a memorial to his wife of 50 years, Dori, who passed away in early 2019. Dori was an artist and musician, so this mural features creative and talented women Dori and Terry have met over the course of their 45 years in Tampa.

In May of 2019, Terry worked with Tampa's Downtown Partnership to select the perfect spot for this mural. They decided on the Channelside area downtown which is an up-and-coming section of the city with a vibrant, young atmosphere. The red brick wall that was transformed with the mural is over 100 years old!

Terry has been using DecoArt acrylics in his work for over 10 years. We supplied Americana Decor Outdoor Living paints for this project since they are self-sealing and priming. Terry enjoyed working with this paint because of its brilliance in color, high-coverage opacity, good working-time, and great adhesion.

Terry also incorporated tile and glass elements into this mural design since his wife, Dori, was a mosaic enthusiast. This beautiful mural captures and honors the spirit of Dori and is a gift to all who will see it in the many years to come.
