People of DecoArt: Yvette

In the People of DecoArt series, you'll learn about the people behind the magic here at DecoArt and even be able to ask them questions. In today's feature, we are excited to introduce you to Yvette, a DecoArt Package Specialist.
A fellow DecoArt employee describes Yvette as "heavily relied on" and went on to say that Yvette is "consistent and kind. She knows our kit process very well and embodies the kind of attitude we strive for our employees to have here at DecoArt." It takes a lot of great people to keep the DecoArt manufacturing plant in Stanford, Kentucky operating and Yvette is one of those people.
Yvette has been working at DecoArt since 2014 and primarily works in the shrink-wrap department but also helps assemble kits. The kits are the 2-oz (and sometimes 8-oz) sets of paints you can find in craft stores. If you've ever purchased a DecoArt Value Pack, it was probably shrink-wrapped together by Yvette and her team. Yvette said a lot of people don't realize that most of the shrink-wrapping is done by hand while some is completed with a brand-new machine, nicknamed "Bertha."
Yvette said her favorite part of working at DecoArt is the people she works with and said, "It's like a family." Yvette has worked in factories since she was 19 years old and says "I enjoy coming to work. I don't dread it like I used to when I worked at other places."
Yvette has a sense of pride when seeing her kits and value packs in craft stores. She is able to show them to her girls and tell them, "This is what we do." Her girls are creative and love to paint so Yvette plans to get them DecoArt paints for their stockings this Christmas.

"Metallic purples and blues"
Do you paint?
"I don't, but my girls love to paint."
How many shrinks do you make in a day?
"2,400, but it depends on the kits"
What's your fave thing about working at DecoArt?
"The people. It's like a family."
What do you like to do in your spare time? Hobbies?
"Being outside and being with my girls."
What does your job entail?
"Assembling paint kits and shrink-wrapping value packs. My goal is to keep my team motivated and a positive atmosphere on a daily basis."
Do things ever go wrong?
"Duplicates might be found during the quality check and so we have to problem-solve to make sure it gets fixed."
What is your favorite movie and why?
"Home Alone. Because it's a movie me and my girls watch every year together."
