Easy Christmas Wrapping Paper

One of my favorite things about the holidays is picking out the perfect gift and wrapping them. I love looking at the tree with all of the pretty packages wrapped with love. I'm one of those people who wants the wrapping paper to match the color scheme for the tree, but I can't always find what I want so this year I'm using DecoArt paint to create my own DIY Christmas Wrapping Paper.

This year I decided to decorate with a non-traditional color scheme and I was having a hard time finding pretty wrapping paper that coordinated with my Black and White Christmas tree. So, I grabbed a few rolls of black and white wrapping paper, DecoArt paint and stencils and set out to create my own.

Items needed:
DecoArt Stencil - Birch Trees
DecoArt Stencil - Joy
DecoArt Extreme Sheen - Pearl and Silver
Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics - Cotton Ball
Plain Black and White Wrapping Paper
Foam Pouncers
Painters Tape
Paint Brush

Instructions:
Start by unrolling the wrapping paper and position the birch tree stencil on top.  Use painters tape to secure the corners and hold the stencil in place.

Dip the foam pouncer in the silver paint. Blot excess paint on a paper plate before applying to prevent the paint from seeping under the edges of the stencil.

Continue repeating the pattern until you have a large piece with your design. Add a little bit of texture and dimension to your birch forest by splattering white paint to give it a look of freshly falling snow. Set the wrapping paper aside and let it dry completely before using.

While the wrapping paper is drying, make custom package toppers or gift tags. I used round paper mache ornaments to make a pretty and practical gift tag. I painted the ornament with the Extreme Sheen Pearl paint and then applied the Joy stencil and Dazzling Metallics Zinc paint.

Wrap your gifts with your custom DIY Christmas Wrapping Paper and add ribbon and the dazzling ornament to finish it off.

You can customize your wrapping paper with any colors or designs that coordinate with your Christmas decor. The possibilities are virtually limitless and you'll love giving the perfect gift all wrapped up with love this holiday season!
