In my Mixed Media Shorty video series, I always focus on basic techniques, which are doable for the beginning mixed media artist but can also be a good reminder for the more advanced artist.

For this tag, layering was what it was all about. Being it layering paint, layering modeling paste or layering shades of one and the same color to create an old wall effect.

Items Needed:
DecoArt Media Modeling Paste - White
DecoArt Media Heavy Gel Medium
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Raw Sienna
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Cobalt Teal Hue
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Quinacridone Gold
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Primary Magenta
Americana Decor Chalky Finish - Carbon
Americana Decor Chalky Finish - Yesteryear
Americana Decor Chalky Finish - Serene

Americana Decor Chalky Finish - Whisper

Can DecoArt Crafters Acrylic be used on "outside" resin or plastic ornaments ?

Virginia - Painting on resin can be a difficult task! We would recommend trying our Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics OR our Americana Decor Outdoor Living paints. Roughing up the surface before painting can help to ensure adhesion, but test in an inconspicuous spot first. Some plastics don't like paint no matter how you prep the surface! Hope this helps!
