Americana Premium offers a selection of versatile mediums that, when added to the acrylics, expand the capabilities of the entire line. Below you'll find more information about each medium including some tips and tricks.

Texture Medium
A medium for creating impasto or texture techniques when mixed with Premium Acrylics. Made from fine grinds of powder, this medium is perfect for adding texture to the paint. Texture Medium is made from about 50% solids and is semi-translucent. This means that it will not affect the color you add it to and will assist in making the paint more opaque. This medium is compatible with all other mediums so the choices and mixes are endless.

Alicia from Thrifty & Chic used Texture Paste to add dimension to these florals.

Gloss Medium
Add Gloss Medium to Americana Premium acrylics to create a gloss finish, extend color, increase transparency, and enhance color blending. It can also be used as a clear top coat for a gloss finish. It is water-based and fast-drying.

Heavy Gel Gloss Medium
Has an extra thick viscosity that is ideal for impasto techniques in mixed media and fine art painting. Heavy Gel Gloss Medium also allows you to build texture. It can be tinted with Americana Premium Acrylics and will hold peaks. When mixed with Americana Premium acrylics you can also achieve a more transparent finish. Dries to a hard, translucent finish.

Extender Medium
Add this to slow the drying time of Americana Premium Acrylics. Extender Medium can also be safely added to the other mediums in the line. Any time you want the paint or medium to have extra working time, add some Extender to it! Extender also allows you to perform oil techniques using acrylic paint.

Gesso (Black and White)
A highly pigmented Gesso that is a smooth, and flexible primer and texture-builder that provides superior, one-coat coverage to most surfaces. Use Gesso to seal and smooth out rough surfaces before you begin painting. It can also be tinted with Americana Premium Acrylics.
