Watermelon Slice Frame

Show off a summertime memory in this slice-of-summer themed wooden frame.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • #0 liner brush
    • masking tape
    • 1/2" one-stroke brush
    • wooden frame

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Allow to dry between painting steps.

    1. Place one strip of masking tape horizontally across the frame. (Be sure to fold the tape around all the edges.)
    2. Using a 1/2” one-stroke brush, paint the top half of the frame Royal Fuchsia.
    3. On the bottom half of the frame, place vertical strips of the masking tape 1” apart.
    4. Using the 1/2” one-stroke brush, paint the stripes Kelly Green.
    5. On the top half of the frame, using the #0 liner brush, paint watermelon seeds in rows across by creating a teardrop shape in Graphite. Allow 5-10 minutes for drying.
    6. On the bottom half of the frame, remove the tape and paint the remaining vertical stripes with Sour Apple and the 1/2” one-stroke brush.
    7. Remove the tape placed horizontally and paint the remaining stripe Snow White using the 1/2” one-stroke brush.
