Tic-Tac-Toe Patterned Stool

Fashion a richly-patterned footstool with a wooden stool, scrapbook paper, and Americana® Decou-Page™.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • scissors
    • ruler
    • sponge brush
    • pencil
    • #6 flat brush
    • scrapbook paper
    • square foot stool

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use a sponge or 3/4" flat brush and Soft Blue to paint stool legs and edges.
    2. Use a #6 flat brush to paint turned rings on legs Royal Fuchsia. (Refer to photo for placement.)
    3. Measure the stool top. Divide into nine equal-sized squares and mark with pencil.
    4. Cut scrapbook papers to fit squares.
    5. Apply Americana Matte Decou-Page onto the stool top with a sponge or 3/4" flat brush. Position and press scrapbook paper square onto surface, smoothing out any bubbles with fingers. Repeat with remaining squares.
    6. Apply additional coat(s) of Decou-Page over stool top. Allow to dry between coats.
    7. When completely dry, use sandpaper to gently smooth out paper edges.
