    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Sand the entire ladder to remove any chipping paint or rough spots. Wipe clean with a damp paper towel.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Paint the entire ladder with Cameo. (This only needs to be a rough coat; some of the wood can still show through.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Apply a coat of Vintage over the Cameo layer. (Do not work the paint into the imperfections; allow them to show through.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Cut a piece of Con-Tact paper to fit the top of the ladder and adhere it, smoothing away any bubbles or wrinkles.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Spray the back of the ladder top diamond stencil provided with a light coat of low-tack spray adhesive. Allow the stencil to sit until it is dry, but slightly tacky. (If it is not dry, it could potentially leave a residue.)
    10. Center the stencil on the ladder top and cut out every other diamond shape with a sharp craft knife.
    11. Instruction #6
    12. Using a sponge pounder, apply Relic to the stencil.
    13. Instruction #7
    14. Cut the rest of the provided stencil patterns out from lightweight posterboard using a craft knife.
    15. Instruction #8
    16. Spray the back of the circle and diamond stencil provided with spray adhesive and position on the center of the ladder step. Use the pouncer to apply Relic to the stencil.
    17. Instruction #9
    18. Repeat the previous step for the next step on the ladder.
    19. Instruction #10
    20. Spray the back of the geometric star stencil provided with spray adhesive. Apply the stencil to the outside of the right front leg of the ladder. Apply Relic with a sponge pouncer.
    21. Instruction #11
    22. Re-position the stencil and repeat on the outside left leg and the inside of each stenciled leg in Carbon.
    23. Instruction #12
    24. Spray the back of the diamond stencil and apply onto the rear left side of the ladder. Pounce Relic onto the stencil. Re-position and stencil the remainder of the leg, as well as the inside of the rear legs.
    25. Instruction #13
    26. Repeat the same process with the leaf stencil onto the inside and outside of the lower rail of the ladder.
    27. Instruction #14
    28. For the finishing touch, stencil dots along all edges of the ladder in Relic.
    29. Instruction #15
    30. Lightly sand the ladder with sandpaper to create a distressed look. Use a heavier hand to sand all of the edges. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove all sanding dust.
    31. Instruction #16
    32. Apply a coat of Ultra-Matte Varnish to the entire ladder for added durability.
    33. Instruction #17
