    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Use a 1″ flat brush and Americana Primer & Sealer to coat all sides of the clock surface. Allow to dry.
    2. Use a 1″ flat brush to basecoat the front and sides of the clock surface with Baby Pink. Let dry. Apply a second coat, if needed, to give solid coverage.
    3. Lightly spray the surface of the scrapbook paper and the clock collage paper two or three times with Americana Matte Spray Sealer, allowing to dry between coats. Flip each over and spray the other sides the same way. (This will help prevent creases and bubbles when you decoupage to the surface.)
    4. Cut out the large clock number circle from the clock collage paper, both outside and inside.
    5. Place the clock number circle on top of the scrapbook paper so that the center circle shows the red rose, somewhat off-center to the right, to allow room for stamping on the left of the rose. Lightly trace the inside circle onto the scrapbook paper with a pencil. (This will be your guide for applying the clock face later.)
    6. Remove the clock number circle and set aside. Using a compass, draw a second circle on the scrapbook paper, 1" larger all around than the first circle. Cut out around the larger circle.
    7. Using the 1" foam brush, apply a generous layer of Americana Matte Decou-Page on the back of the scrapbook paper circle.
    8. Center the scrapbook cut-out and apply to the clock face.
    9. Using a brayer (or the edge of an old credit card), smooth the cut-out from the center out, removing any bubbles or creases and squeezing out any excess Decou-Page. Smooth the paper edges down securely. Remove any excess Decou-Page with a damp paper towel. Allow to dry at least 20 minutes.
    10. Once dry, load a small sea sponge with Pineapple and tap off on the palette or plastic plate. Lightly tap over the Baby Pink around the outside edges up to the scrapbook paper circle, allowing much of the Pineapple to remain visible. (Don’t worry about getting a little onto the edge of the scrapbook paper since the edges between the paint and the paper will be covered by the clock numbers.)
    11. Clean the sea sponge by squeezing into a paper towel several times, removing as much Baby Pink as you can. (The sponge need not be completely clean.) Load the sponge with Royal Ruby, tap off onto palette, and lightly sponge over the same area, allowing both Pineapple and Baby Pink to show through. (Apply Royal Ruby more heavily along the outside edge of the clock face.) Allow to dry.
    12. Apply a generous coat of Decou-Page to the back of the clock number circle. Apply to the center of the clock surface, using the pencil guideline and making sure that 12 o’clock is at the top in relationship to the rose.
    13. Smooth the clock number circle all the way around from the middle to the outside, removing any bubbles or creases. Wipe away any excess Decou-Page and allow to dry at least 20 minutes.
    14. Using a #6 flat brush, apply a thin layer of Royal Ruby to the surface of one stamp and apply to inner circle to the left of the red rose, at an angle.
    15. Repeat with the second stamp. Let dry. (Alternately, you could use a similar-sized stencil and a dauber or stencil brush to apply a fleur de lis motif.)
    16. Apply a final coat of Decou-Page over the entire surface of the clock face. Allow to dry overnight.
    17. Spray the surface with Americana Gloss Spray Sealer. Allow to dry and apply a second coat. (This will help eliminate any stickiness from the Decou-Page.)
    18. Assemble and affix the clock mechanism.
