SUPPLIES

Americana® Acrylics

  • Baby Blue (DAO42)
  • True Red (DA129)

Americana® Decou-Page™

  • Matte Decou-Page (DS106)

Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paper towels
  • 3/4" flat brush
  • fine point permanent marker
  • craft knife
  • rectangle wooden frame
  • school-themed scrapbook paper
  • pre-painted robot cutout
  • small round wooden apple (Woodsies)
  • small piece of green chenille stem

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Use 3/4" flat brush to paint frame edges Baby Blue and apple, True Red.
  2. Apply DecouPage on frame. Position and press scrapbook paper on frame, smoothing out any bubbles with fingers.
  3. Apply additional coat(s) of DecouPage over paper. Allow to dry between coats.
  4. Use craft knife to trim away excess scrapbook paper from frame.
  5. Position and adhere chenille stem on apple. Adhere apple on robot's hand. Position and adhere robot on bottom corner of frame.
  6. Use permanent marker to personalize apple.

HELPFUL HINTS

Brayer can also be used to remove bubbles, if necessary.

Heavy or thick papers can be soaked a few minutes in water to relax fibers before decoupaging. This will result in smoother finish.
