INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Using a small artist paintbrush, paint the 12" hoop in Lipstick.
  2. Paint the 8" hoop in Cobalt and the 4" hoop in Metallic Gold.
  3. Lay each completely-dry hoop on top of the fabric and trace onto the fabric. Cut out the circle approximately 1" wider than drawn on the fabric.
  4. Put each piece of fabric into the appropriate hoop and tighten. Trim excess fabric.
  5. Affix painter's tape to the fabric in the Lipstick hoop to create a striped diagonal pattern on the fabric. Paint over the fabric in Lipstick. When dry, remove the painter's tape to reveal painted stripes.
  6. Apply light coats of Cobalt to the star stamp and gently press the stamp onto the fabric in the Cobalt hoop. Repeat this process until the fabric is covered in stars.
  7. Lightly free-hand "USA" in pencil on the fabric in the Metallic Gold hoop. Use a #2 round brush in Metallic Gold to paint over the lettering.
  8. Apply a thin layer of E6000 glue to the portion of the Cobalt embroidery hoop that will be attached to the Lipstick embroidery hoop and fabric. Press the Cobalt hoop onto the Lipstick-striped fabric and Lipstick hoop. Repeat this process for the Metallic Gold hoop as well.
  9. Once fully dried, hot glue ponpom trim to the opposite sides of the Cobalt embroidery hoop.
  10. Gently loosen the top of the Lipstick embroidery hoop to create a small gap between the two wooden pieces of the hoop. Slide a piece of yarn through at gap and tie a know to form a hoop for hanging. Tighten the top of the embroidery hoop again.
  11. Tie a decorative bow and hot glue to the top of the Lipstick embroidery hoop.
