Neon Beach Paintings on Velvet
Posted by DecoArt on Aug 1st 2019
Add a bright touch of color to summer décor with Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics on black velvet.
SUPPLIES
- chalk
- old dish towel
- black velvet
- staple gun and staples
- 10" square wooden frame
INSTRUCTIONS
- Stretch the black velvet, wrapping it around each frame as you would a present. (Make sure the edges are crisp and clean.) Pull it taut and use a staple gun to secure it in place.
- Once the black velvet is on the frame, transfer the provided template onto the velvet by using chalk to trace around the shape or placing the template on the velvet and painting around it.
- Black velvet absorbs the paint, so it might take a few coats: apply Americana Acrylic in corresponding color for the base layer, and then continue on with a Multi-Surface Acrylic in Neon. (Apply a few coats to get the rich, deep color desired.)
- Continue with each pattern until you complete a set of 3 beach-themed pieces.
