A pair of simple wooden candlesticks takes on a nautical theme with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • pencil
    • black Sharpie® marker
    • wooden candlesticks
    • small and medium brushes

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Remove the product label from the candlesticks. (See photo.) With pencil, mark size and placement of stripes, windows, rocks, and shoreline. (You don't need to draw grass. After you paint the water, you will paint grass over it from the bottom.)
    2. Alternate Cherry Red and Snow White, or Leaf Green and Snow White, to stripe the lighthouse body. Stripe the candle cups with Snow White and Lamp Black. (See photo for placement.)
    3. When painting the rocks, mix a little Lamp Black and more Snow White to make grey. Add Lamp Black for shadows and Snow White for highlights.
    4. For water, add Snow White to True Blue.
    5. When painting the windows, outline them with a black Sharpie marker. (It might be too difficult to use brush.)
