Upcycled Rooster Jewelry Box

Mix modern with primitive to create a unique jewelry box.
SUPPLIES
- paper towels
- sandpaper
- scissors
- ruler
- pencil
- 1" flat brush
- screwdriver
- Contac® paper
- X-Acto® knife
- 1" painter's tape
- 1-1/4" sponge pouncer
- wooden silverware box
- rooster paper
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a damp paper towel to clean box.
- Use a screwdriver to remove hardware. Set aside.
- Use a 1" flat brush to basecoat the entire box with Cameo. Rinse brush.
- Put 1" painter's tape around the lid of the box, creating a border.
- Use 1" flat brush to apply Lace inside the taped area. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.
- Place Contac® paper on top of lid.
- Tape down Contac® paper. Use a ruler and pencil to trace diamond pattern on entire lid.
- Use an X-Acto® knife to cut out every other diamond. (This creates a pattern for the Treasure-colored of diamond shapes.)
- Use 1-1/4" pouncer with Treasure to fill in remaining diamond shapes. Rinse pouncer.
- Remove Contac® paper and painter's tape. Lightly sand to distress.
- Use scissors to cut out roosters from scrapbook paper, and position them where you want before attaching.
- Use 1" flat brush to attach the roosters to box lid with Matte Decou-Page. (Follow the label instructions.) Rinse brush. Let dry completely.
- Once dry, use 1" flat brush to apply Soft-Touch Varnish to seal the entire box. Rinse brush.
- Reattach box hardware.
