Americana® Premium™ Acrylics

  • Burnt Umber (DTA08)
  • Carbon Black (DTA37)
  • Cobalt Teal Hue (DTA29)
  • Phthalo Green-Yellow (DTA26)
  • Primary Magenta (DTA03)
  • Primary Yellow (DTA19)
  • Titan Buff (DTA41)
  • Titanium White (DTA40)
  • Vermillion Hue (DTA13)
  • Yellow Green Light (DTA21)

Other supplies

  • #2 round brush
  • 3/4" flat brush
  • grey transfer paper
  • pen or pencil
  • 12" x 16" canvas

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Use a pen or pencil to transfer your Alpaca and flower design onto the canvas.
  2. Use a 3/4" Flat brush to mix Cobalt Teal Hue and Titanium White to paint the sky around the clouds. (You may need to use a small round brush around the clouds). Rinse brushes.
  3. Use the 3/4" flat brush to mix the greens, yellow, and white to paint the two colors of green hills. Rinse brush. Use same brush to paint the dirt hill with Burnt Umber, Vermillion, and Primary Yellow. Rinse brush. Use the round brush to add the dashes in the hill with Burnt Umber. Rinse brush. Use same green mixes with round brush to paint patches of grass on the dirt hill. Rinse brush.
  4. Use the round brush to paint the stems and leaves with the greens. Rinse brush. Use same brush with Magenta and White to paint the flowers. Rinse brush.
  5. Use the round brush to paint the alpaca in Titan Buff. Rinse brush. Use the round brush to mix Carbon Black and Titan Buff to paint details on the alpaca and hooves. Rinse brush.Then use the handle end of the brush to fill in the flower centers with Primary Yellow. Wipe off handle end.
