Turn a flea market lamp into an on-trend room accent with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • 2" flat brush
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #10 flat brush
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • lamp
    • beaded fringe
    • clean white cloth

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Make sure the lamp is clean and dust free. Remove the lampshade.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Escape to paint the entire lampshade. Rinse brush. Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the biggest round sections separately using New Life, Legacy, Heritage, and Inheritance. Rinse brush in between and at the end. Use a #10 flat brush and Romance to paint all the pieces in between. Rinse brush. Use the 3/4" flat brush to basecoat the base with Treasure. Rinse brush.

    5. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Romance to paint a wavy border around the bottom half of the lampshade. Rinse brush.

    7. Use a #10 flat brush and Inheritance to paint a line where the Romance touches the Escape all the way around. (Refer to photo.) Rinse brush.

    9. Use the handle end of the #10 flat brush dipped in Heritage to make random polka dots in the Romance part only. Wipe off handle.

    11. Use a #2 flat brush and Clear Crème Wax to apply over the lamp stand quickly. Rinse brush.

    13. Use the same brush to apply Deep Brown Crème Wax over the lamp stand quickly. Rinse brush.

    15. With a clean white cloth immediately wipe back. Once dry, use another clean cloth to buff the lamp stand to a satin sheen.

    17. Use a #2 flat brush to apply the Clear and Deep Brown Crème Waxes to the lampshade. Rinse brush in between and at the end.

    19. Use scissors to cut the beaded fringe to fit around the top of the lampshade.

    21. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the fringe.
