Bohemian Painted Flower Vase

Make a vase bright and pretty with this bohemian inspired painted flower.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • pencil
    • #3 round brush
    • #2 liner brush
    • masking tape
    • clear glass vase

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Cut out the flower pattern and tape it to the inside of the vase.
    2. Using the #3 round brush, fill in the flower shape with Razzle Berry and the stem and leaves with Festive Green.

    4. Transfer the rest of the pattern to the top of the painted flower using tracing and transfer papers and a pencil.
    5. Using the #3 round brush, paint a rounded stripe across the middle of the flower and random polka dots across the top part of the flower with Lavender. (See photo for placement.)
    6. On either side of the Lavender stripe, paint a Calypso Blue stripe with the #2 liner brush.
    7. With the #2 liner brush, paint Baby Pink dots across the Lavender stripe.
    8. With the #2 liner brush, paint a stripe along the center of the flower leaves and two stripes across the bottom of the stem with Lavender. Switch to Calypso Blue and add scallops beside the stripe in the leaves and add stripes on the stem base by the Lavender stripes. (See photo for placement.)
    9. With the #2 liner brush and Black, outline the flower, leaves, and stem and add little accent dots along the Lavender leaf stripes and outline the Calypso Blue scallops.
    10. With the #2 liner brush and Black, add little dashes to the bottom of the flower and outline all of the stripes. (See photo for placement.)
    11. Use the #2 liner brush and White to make tiny dots along the stem and across the middle of the flower. Also make a few highlight marks. (See photo for placement.)
