SUPPLIES

    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • ruler
    • wooden box
    • wood glue
    • #12 flat brush
    • cosmetic sponge
    • 120-grit sandpaper
    • white and black gel ink pens
    • chalk ink (color of choice)
    • scrapbook paper with Halloween theme
    • hole punches, round, in two sizes
    • cardstock in black, white, and orange

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Measure the scrapbook paper to fit all four sides of the wooden box.
    2. Using a #12 flat brush, apply Americana Matte Decou-Page to the box and place the scrapbook paper on the front and back of the box. Smooth down well with hands. (Don't worry if paper hangs over the edges of the box.) Let dry approximately 30 minutes.
    3. Sand the box edges until smooth with 120-grit sandpaper.
    4. Apply scrapbook papers to the sides of the box, repeating as you did in step 2 and sanding edges.
    5. After all the edges have been sanded, dab a cosmetic sponge into chalk ink and dab the ink around all the edges of the box.
    6. Let chalk ink dry.
    7. Trace and transfer the bat and pumpkin patterns onto cardstock. Cut out.
    8. Use hole punches for the bats' eyes. Use gel pens to detail bats' eyes and pumpkin.
    9. Adhere the bats and pumpkins onto the box with wood glue.
    10. Seal the entire box with Decou-Page.
