Where can I learn about your products?

Are your products food safe?

All of our products are considered non-toxic for craft uses, but are not approved for food safety. When painting dishes, be sure to avoid the lip of glasses and mugs, and paint only on the backs or outsides of plates and bowls.

Do you have to use a special brush cleaner with the Gloss Enamels line?

All of our paints are acrylic, meaning that they can be cleaned with water, soap and water, or our own DecoMagic Brush Cleaner. Do not use solvent-based products like mineral spirits to clean your brushes when using Americana Gloss Enamels or any of our other paints.

Are your paints dishwasher-safe?

All paints in the Gloss Enamels, Multi-Surface, and Chalky Finish for Glass lines are dishwasher-safe when baked according to directions.

What paints can I use outside?

Our Patio Paint and Americana Multi-Surface lines are formulated to work outside. However, do not use these paints inside a birdbath, fountain, or pool, because they are not meant to be used under standing water.

Where are your products made?

Our paints and mediums are formulated, tested, made, bottled, and labeled in the USA.

Our Webmaster team can help with any technical issues you identify on our site. Just email us with details about the problem. If you can, include steps for recreating the issue and information about how you are viewing our site (phone, tablet, computer) and what web browser you are using (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer).

How do I sign up for your newsletter?

Subscribing to our newsletters is a great way to keep up with the latest news from DecoArt, including new products, tips and techniques, and project ideas. We offer three different newsletters at this time, geared towards different interests.

PURCHASING

Where can I buy your paint?

You can find our products in our online store or at these other online and store locations around the world.

Can I buy products on-site at your facility?

We do not have a physical retail store on our property, but you can purchase our products online. Additionally, our products are sold at hundreds of retailers throughout the US and over 70 countries internationally.

How can I check on the status of my order?

To check on the status of an online order, just log in to your account in our online store, and click on "View order status" from within your account. If you didn't create an account during checkout, then contact us online or call 1-800-367-3047 and we can check the status for you.

Can I get a bound copy of your current catalog?

To request a hard copy of our catalog, send us an email. For an online catalog that you can print, visit our products page for the most up-to-date catalog version.

How long has DecoArt, Inc. been in business?

DecoArt was launched in 1985 as a division of Ceramichrome. Artists in the craft industry kept contacting the company saying how much better the ceramics branded acrylic color was than other offerings on the market. In 1997, Ceramichrome was sold to Coloramics LLP and the company's name was officially changed to DecoArt, Inc. At that time, the Americana line had become one of the primary acrylic paints available and the product offerings had drastically expanded. The company continues to grow and expand its international reach.

How many locations do you have?

Our 115,000 square foot facility in Stanford is our sole location. It holds our corporate headquarters along with our manufacturing and distribution centers.

How many people do you employ?

SUPPORTING ARTISTS AND CHARITIES

Does DecoArt support charitable organizations?

We sponsor many different events and charities, and sponsorship decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. Email us with your proposal for consideration.

What programs do you have for supporting artists?

We have many different programs to support artists from different segments of the arts and crafts community. Our Helping Artist program is designed to help those who publish or teach (school teachers, independent classes, or online). Learn more about the Helping Artist program and apply online.

We also work with independent artists who do not happen to teach or blog. We have a Helping Designer program where artists complete projects on request for use in our marketing materials and at trade shows. Email us for more information.
