Do It Yourself Word Art

Hi there! I'm Gwen from The Bold Abode, and today, I'm here to share with you the meaning of life. Or at least, my simplistic, but happy meaning.

I'm always looking for ways to make life more fun and light-hearted! And I thought it would be super fun to bring in a reminder to build more PLAY into my life. I'm the kind of girl that needs a bonk-on-the-head, in-your-face-reminder so this Do It Yourself Word Art is the banana in my pudding!

It's also a reminder for me to sit my be-hind down and play those black and white keys.  I love to tinkle the ivories (in my limited ability), and life just gets so full-steam-ahead, that I seriously forget to stop and enjoy this beautiful piano!

Items needed:

  • Americana Acrylics 2oz - Snow (Titanium) White
  • Big Wood Letters
  • Americana Acrylics 2oz - Light Lime
  • Paint Brush

Instructions:

Just take a look at the new color selection. Aren't they as pretty as a rainbow slide in Candy Land?

First, give your letters a good coat or two of the Titanium White.  This will help the top color coat pop!

Allow the white to dry and then paint the Light Lime on the face of the letter.

You might want to go around the sides with more white, just to make sure you get a really good contrast.

I love this soft lime color.  It's delicious!

What a simple and easy way to add some flair to the everyday living of your life!

I hope you are finding ways to PLAY... fun shouldn't stop just because you have to do all the boring adult life stuff!
